Xmen Apocalypse finds its teen heroes, Supergirl gets cast and Elder Scrolls Online goes subscription free!
Xmen Apocalypse has finally found its young Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm. Director Brian announced on Twitter yesterday that the new trio would consist of Tye Sheridan (Mud), Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) and Alexandra Shipp (Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B) playing Scott Summers, Jean Grey and Ororo Munroe respectively.
12 Years a Slave actor Chiwetel Ejiofor is in early talks to appear in Marvel’s Doctor Strange, though we don’t know what his role will be, there’s the possibility of; Antagonist, Tutor, Sidekick.
Things aren’t looking great for the Suicide Squad movie. After an awesome start with a slew of casting announcements and some huge names attached to the project, Tom Hardy (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises) dropped out, and with rumours that Nightcrawler‘s Jake Gyllenhaal will take his place as Rick Flagg, the de-facto leader of the team it was looking a little better, but now Gyllenhall has dropped out, leaving the project once again, flagg-less.
CBS’s Supergirl has found its Kara Zor-El in Glee alum Melissa Benoist. If you’re a fan of the site and not so much of Glee and that name sounds familiar, it’s because she also played Miles Teller’s love interest in Whiplash. Supergirl has been given a series commitment and will pick up with a 24 year old Kara who, up until then, has been keeping her powers under wraps.
Red Hood will be visiting Gotham, according to show runner Bruno Heller which should excite a lot of Batman fans. Red Hood has been the guise for many a Batman Rogue, including the Joker, so that’s a possible route the show could go in to introduce the fan favourite villain.
Episode 18 of The Flash will see the return of Emily Bett Rickards Felicity Smoak in Central City, and this time she’s got a new companion. She’ll be escorted by Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), apparently the pair will be visiting STAR labs to ask for help with Palmer’s ATOM project.
Fable Legends, the asymmetrical multiplayer from Lionhead studios, will be coming to the PC and will feature cross platform play with the Xbox One version. Providing the PC is running Windows 10.
