Spiderman, Spiderman, teaming up with Ironman.
Spiderman comes to the MCU, a first look at Gotham’s Joker and Lady Sif returns to Agents of SHIELD.
The signs all pointed this way, and today it was announced that it’s finally happening; get your web slingers and your great powers and responsibilities ready, because SPIDERMAN IS COMING TO THE MCU. The deal is this: Spiderman (most likely to be recast, again) will appear in an MCU instalment (our money is on Captain America: Civil War because, plot.) and will then star in his own movie to be released in July 2017, which will be in the same universe as Stark, Rogers, and Romanov .
The caveat to all this is that all the planned MCU releases after July 2017 (Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Captain Marvel and the Inhumans) will be shifted down to the next release date (Thor moves to Panthers slot of November 2017, etc), while the Inhumans will be moved to July 12 as it’s the last in the chain. It looks like the Avengers: Infinity War parts 1 and 2 will stay where they are, what effect that will have on the story lines, we’ll have to see.
And for those who are worried about yet another Spidey origin story, think about this; if we’re getting at least a costumed cameo in Civil War (or whatever feature it ends up being) we can’t have an origin story come July 2017, unless they go the lazy way of flashbacks. I say just jump straight in, we all know what happened to Parker.
Any news we report after that is going to sound lacklustre isn’t it? Well, Fifty Shades of Grey already has both sequels in the works, as it was announced on an advanced screening of the film that will be released this weekend, the good money’s on a yearly release schedule of Valentine’s Day.
Speaking of Sequels, Zoolander 2 is to start filming in Rome in the spring, the sequel will presumably see the two stars of the first film (who had given up the fashion game by the end of the original) taking to the European Catwalk, to maybe stop another world war?
Well… That happened quickly. Do you want to see the first glimps of Gotham‘s Joker? Well it’s here. I’m intrigued.
Thor‘s Jaime Alexander, who played Lady Sif in both instalments, will be returning to Agents of SHIELD in the second episode of this half-season. With Amnesia, so while we can expect some light to be shed on the events of the winter finale, the show has a way to cover its tracks. Good old Amnesia.
Fans of Game of Thrones with half an hour to spare might want to check out this behind the scenes feature. Well, it’s nearly time for season 5, so we can expect more of these little treats from HBO as the months go on.
The Xbox One is finally getting a screenshot function, which might not sound like a big deal, but having the option to quickly snap a screen while playing my PS4 has been a great boon to capturing the pretty, funny or just plain mental things that can happen.
Super Smash Brothers for the 3DS is getting an update this week which will open itself up to Amiibo support, with the release of compatible hardware (the New 3DS) at the end of the week, it’s fairly well timed.
Speaking on the New 3DS, if you’re one of those who’s already got a 3DS but want to shift your save files from one t’other, check out this video guide from Nintendo themselves.
