Jurassic World continues destroying the Box Office, Snyder defends Man of Steel’s ending and could Agent Carter see the first Baron Zemo?

One day we’ll get bored of reporting just how good Jurassic World is, but that day is not today; after this weekend it’s now reached the fifth spot on the list of highest grossing films of all time, overtaking Frozen, The Deathly Hallows Part 2 and The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Zach Snyder gets a lot of stick for the ending of the Man of Steel, there was a lot of crashing, lots of collateral damage and a few snapped necks. But Snyder has defended his decision, saying that in movies like this, you need tension and consequences, or else what’s the point?

We all gave a chuckle in the Ant-man trailer when Scott Lang suggested that they call the Avengers, but the latest TV spot reveals a superhero cameo that not many were expecting, only watch this if you’re not really fussed about a possible surprise appearance.

Another trio of motion posters have appeared for Heroes Reborn, you can check them out here, this show has a lot of movement behind it, here’s hoping it can live up to the original’s first season.

Agent Carter Season 2 will see the appearance of 2 new villains when it returns next year. Reportedly one of these will be another actual villain from the comics, and considering the appearance of Helmut Zemo in the upcoming Captain America Civil War, it could be the original Baron Zemo.

David Cros (Everyone’s favourite blue(th) painted Analrapist) said he and fellow funny man Brian Posehn were flown over to Bungie HQ back when Destiny was being made to write a bunch of jokes for Ghost, but it seems that they didn’t use a single one.

July 14th will see Batman Arkham Knight‘s first piece of story based DLC in the form of A matter of Family, and will star Batgirl.

Jurassic World climbs to eighth highest grossing film of all time, Supergirl gets a new trailer and all future Halo games will now have a beta.

Jurassic World, there’s a film that just keeps popping up, for good reason too, the dino-sequel has climbed to 8th place in the highest grossing movies of all time, sitting comfortably between Frozen and Iron Man 3.

Last week the new Spiderman was cast, in the form of Tom Holland, now many people are a little dubious of the reboot, what with the fact that we’ve seen the origin story told twice within the last 15 years. But Kevin Feige (you know, that guy from Marvel) has laid out his plans, and why it’s really not the Spiderman we’re used to seeing.

Last up. this promotional image (courtesy of Empire) shows us the Fantastic Four all in a row, showing off their powers (except Reed, but I hear he has performance anxiety.)

In the last few weeks Neil Gaiman’s American Gods has gotten a series on Starz, as well as a showrunner, well it’s now been confirmed that Gaiman himself will write ‘several’ episodes.

Supergirl got a new trailer this weekend, a global trailer. The best thing about this one? It’s not six minutes long. Also, backstory and stuff so all’s good.

Agents of SHIELD season 2 took an interesting turn with the introduction of the Inhumans, giving Skye (Daisy) super powers and having a Inhuman/SHIELD battle come the final few episodes, season 3 seems to be taking the secrecy of SHEILD and combining it with the excitement of the inhumans by introducing the Secret Warriors.

Remember the Halo Master Chief Collection? Remember how the multiplayer, which was almost exclusively the only reason man bought the game, didn’t work? That sucked right? Well silver linings, because now, thanks to that… instance, every Halo game from here on in will have a beta.

Have  you got a free weekend in July? Do you have access to London? Do you have £39 for a weekend pass? Then you could be among those who get to play Star Fox Zero, Mario Maker and Splatoon at this year’s Hyper Japan. Click here for details.

More Ant-man TV spots, Neil Gaiman’s American Gods coming to TV and Destiny gets even more PS4 exclusives.

With Fathers’ Day being yesterday, and Ant-man having a daughter (and that relationship likely being a focal point of the upcoming Marvel film) 4 new TV spots have been released showcasing a few new scenes each.

As far as cameo rumour sources go, this has to be a first; Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine may actually appear in Xmen Apocalypse, but how do we know? Well a leather goods store named KikaNY posted some designs on Instagram of a, get this, duffle bag that Hugh Jackman ordered, stating that he’s filming the new Xmen film in Montreal. DUFFLE RUMOURS.

Thor; The Dark World was an entertaining film, there’s no doubt about it, but it didn’t quite capture the magic of the first instalment, well Thor Ragnarok which will be the third solo film in the norse god’s story may have a familiar face behind the camera in the guise of Thor Director Kenneth Branagh.

Daredevil is considered by many to be one of this year’s best pieces of TV, and so with the announcement that the Punisher will appear in season 2 as well as the excitement of the rest of the Defenders coming together eventually, actor Rosario Dawson talks about her character and the evolving role she’ll have in the culmination of the series.

While the Marvel Cinematic team won’t have a presence at Comic-Con this year, the Television unit will be represented in the form of a selection of the cast and crew of both Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter,

Not long ago it was announced that US television network Starz gave the go ahead to the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods, and now the producer Bryan Fuller, alog with Gaiman, have released some concept art, and here’s the intriguing synopsis,

American Gods posits a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of biblical and mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs. Its protagonist, Shadow Moon, is an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday, a conman but in reality one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities.

Destiny‘s next piece of DLC The Taken King is apparently choc-full of content and stuff we’ve been waiting for in Destiny, but if you’re playing on a PS4, you’re going to get a bit more bang for your buck, that’s right; more exclusive content; A strike, armour, weapons and a crucible map are all PS4 exclusives,

It’s been a long wait for fans of the Batman Arkham games, and unfortunately the wait for Arkham Knight has gotten a fraction longer, providing you’re playing on a PS4; a 3.5 gb patch will go live at launch.

Kerbal Space Program, a game heavy on both scientific accuracy and little green men who can survive in space for years, is coming to the PS4… sometime.

Fallout 4 gets a release date and a huge crafting feature, Dishonored 2 announced and Jurassic World destroys Box Office records.

Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight was filmed entirely in 70mm, something that a lot of the marketing material is lording about, well we now have an opening date for that format, as the film will begin showing in 70 mm theatres on the 25th of December this year, with the regular theatrical release some two weeks later in January.

Jurassic World has claimed its place at the top of the boxoffice food chain by having the highest grossing box office opening ever. Of all time. No wonder Chris Pratt is signed on for the sequels already.

A new clip and trailer have appeared for the Ben Kingsley/ Ryan Reynolds body swap thriller Self/less which could be a really fantastic sci-fi experience, assuming it’s not, you know, terrible.

A piece of leaked dialogue has given us a look into the sort of big bad we could be seeing in Arrow season 4; he’s in control, he’s knowledgeable about Oliver’s past enemies and he’s familiar with Ra’s. Damien Darhk? Probably.

Season 3 of Agents of SHIELD will begin airing on September 28th, with, we assume, Agent Carter season 2 airing once again in the mid season break.

Ahead of James’ E3 coverage this week, I’m going to report the big announcements of Bethesda’s first ever E3 conference.

First up, Dishonored 2 was announced. Set some time in the future, with revolt and pestilence once again rife, the game will see Emily Kaldwin all grown up and gifted powers by the Outsider taking the fate of the city into her own hands. We see some of the familiar gadgets and abilities in the announcement trailer alongside new doo-hickeys too.

Alongside that, Dishonored Definitive Edition was announced to be released for current gen this autumn and will be a remastering of the game as well as (we assume,) the DLC.

Fallout 4 news though; release date of November 10th of THIS YEAR. Which is barely any time at all when you think about how long we’ve been waiting for the likes of Arkham Knight since its announcement. It will have a lot of focus on crafting, with every item you find in the world having a use, though we’re assured this isn’t ‘necessary’ and is an optional part of the game, who wouldn’t want to make their own thriving wasteland settlement? It’s like Civilisation, with more super mutants. One more thing you can customise? Your character’s power armour.

If you liked the sound of that and want to see more, head on over to Kotaku for a comprehensive Bethesda run down, along with videos, trailers and more sweet sweet details.

Guardians 2 to feature less characters, Star Trek 3 to feature more species and Andy Samberg and Kit Harrington star as two tennis players in the world’s longest game.

Another new TV spot for Terminator Genisys and Jurassic World have surfaced ahead of the films’ releases on the 1st of July and the 11th of June respectively.

For a series famed for its multitude of alien species and what no, the Star Trek film series really hasn’t explored the galaxy’s inhabitants all that much; sure there was that cult from the second film, and the romulans and vulcans make their appearances, but so far it’s been a very human lead story. Well, not anymore, as Star Trek 3 will include more new worlds and species.

Those fearing, that James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will be similar to Age of Ultron in scope and character inclusion can breath a sigh of relief, as Gunn has come out to say that the sequel will actually include less characters, with more focus aimed at existing ones, with only one or two new faces being introduced.

Another day, another Heroes cast member returns to Heroes reborn. This time it’s Noah Gray-Cabey who will be turning back up onto set, he played the young character Micah who, if you can remember, could talk to machines.

Agents of SHIELD season 3 sure is racking up the regulars; Mack, played by Henry Simmons will be returning, but this time as a series regular (though I’m pretty sure he was in every episode of season 2…)

7 Days in Hell is the name of the mockumentary starring Andy Samberg (Brooklyn 99) and Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones), it tells the ‘story’ of the world’s longest tennis game, a 7 day, 5 set match. Check out the trailer here, it looks pretty great.

For those of you who missed it on Wednesday afternoon, Fallout 4 has been confirmed and there’s a trailer waiting right here for you. The sequel looks to be set in Boston, it looks colourful, and it looks like the protagonist is going to talk.

After a leak of Playstation Store details, Sony have confirmed that the Uncharted Collection, which will include all 3 Uncharted games optimised for the current generation, will be coming in October. Those who buy this will also get access to the Uncharted 4 Online Beta.

A 24 spin-off in the works, a new Lego game is their take on Minecraft, and Ant-man images.

A heap of new images from Ant-man have surfaced, and many of them show of the potential humour of the film as well as just some more of the cast and high res images we’ve seen before. Ant-man hits cinemas on July 17th.

Before Paul Feig decided to reboot the Ghostbusters with a female cast, there was an awful lot of talk and rumour about Ghostbusters 3, turns out Feig had been approached but decided to take it in a new direction because he wanted to leave the originals in one piece.

Hey, look, more clips from Terminator Genisys, featuring visual effects not as good as the early 90’s and character decisions that are ridiculous.

24 is getting a spinoff featuring a twenty-something antihero which will see the rookie team up with a more mature female agent, Keith Sunderland is due to guest star too.

‘There’s something big coming’ in the teaser trailer for ITV’s Jekyll and Hyde, supernatural period drama. ‘Set in 1930’s London at a time of Hollywood glamour, aerodynamic cars and monster movies, the drama will pay homage to the Stevenson novel, and focus on the young, attractive, troubled hero, Robert Jekyll, the grandson of the original doctor. ‘

Luke Mitchell, who played Lincoln in the latter part of Season 2 of Agents of SHIELD has been confirmed as a series regular for season 3. You know what that means? More electric powers, more romantic subplots with Skye, more long sleeve tshirts.

Players of the Witcher 3 will be getting more of its 16 pieces of free DLC soon, this time in the form of fancy Nilfgaardian armour and new crossbows. Nice.

One of the easier ways to describe minecraft is that it’s like Lego, but in a computer game, but now what happens when Lego make a Minecraft esk game? Well you get the early access Beta of Lego Worlds is what,

In other lego news, Lego Jurassic Park has a new trailer, where nothing could possibl-ye go wrong. Sorry, possibly. The game will feature 4 campaigns each based off of a film in the series.

Sara’s Season Finale Rundown

It’s time to say farewell to a few of our best-loved TV shows, but luckily it won’t be for too long. The next few weeks will be filled with season finale episodes and probably a lot of cliff-hangers and surprising twists. Some have already ended and my emotions are currently running wild. Be warned, there will be spoilers.

Arrow: ‘My Name Is Oliver Queen’

As far as season finales go, ‘My Name is Oliver Queen’ was pretty great. Oliver finally reveals his plan to save Starling City; the team finally works as a team again and stops the spread of the virus; and Oliver kills Ra’s just before being shot by a police sniper and then saved by Felicity dressed in Ray’s ATOM suit. The finale was strangely positive. Something that I’m certainly not used to when watching Arrow. I guess Malcolm Merlyn becoming the new head of the League of Assassins balances out the episode. Surely that can’t end well.

The season finale of Arrow seemed very, well, final. Oliver and Felicity rode off into the sunset after killing Ra’s al Ghul, but what now? If we didn’t know that Arrow had been renewed for a fourth season or that DC’s Legends of Tomorrow was being made, we probably would have assumed that that was it. Luckily it isn’t, and hopefully Oliver will be back fighting crime in no time. Maybe not as the Arrow, even though that might break my heart.

I’m very intrigued and nervous about how they’ll handle the next season. But I have the utmost faith that the writers won’t let me down.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D: ‘S.O.S’

No, no, no, no, please no.

If you watched the finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D then you’re well aware of why my heart aches. Fitz and Simmons were finally going to realise that they’re meant to be together and then the Kree stone decides to rip my heart out by absorbing her. Really writers? You do this to me?

At least Bobbi didn’t die saving Hunter and Coulson only lost an arm. But, and there’s a bit but, the Terrigen crystals have taken on a new form: ordinary fish oils that will be sold in supermarkets. Oops. Oh and Ward will be out for revenge as he accidently killed Kara who he thought was Agent May.

We find out towards the end of the episode that Skye will be leading a team of powered people, which appears to be a nod to Marvel’s Secret Warriors. Well at least I hope it is. Perhaps this is how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D will link to Captain America: Civil War, but we’ll have to wait till 2016 to find out.

But at least we can still get our MCU fix through Ant-Man, which comes out in July.

Reign: ‘Burn’

Excuse me, what? So much happened in such a short period of time and the finale left us with so many more questions.

So, Mary told Conde that she was pregnant with his baby but it was all a ruse and she stabbed him. I’m not going to say I was surprised. Amidst the chaos of the siege, Catherine had Lola and Francis’ baby abducted so Conde would be blamed, and then killed, but Francis found out and she has been exiled. Oh, and Conde escaped. After all that, Catherine is now in England plotting with Queen Elizabeth against Mary. We’ll have to see how that plan pans out.

Up next in the list of crazy castle happenings: Kenna is pregnant with Renaude’s baby, but he was just hanged for treason. Kenna and Bash’s marriage (yes, she is/was married) fell apart once Bash found out that she was carrying another man’s baby. But, being the resourceful woman she is, she has found her next target: a shy young king. Delphine, Bash’s side chick, turns out to be a crazy witch who bound their souls together before almost being burnt at the stake.

And last, but certainly not least, the big cliff-hanger: Francis and Mary rekindled their flame, if you know what I mean, but we also found out that he’s dying. So, there’s that.

Like I said, we’re left with more questions than answers: Where on Earth is Conde? Will Catherine really betray Francis by working with Queen Elizabeth? Will Mary’s love really be the end of Francis, just like the prophecy said? I guess we’ll have to wait and see in season 3.

If you have never seen this show and you are very confused by everything I have said then I urge you to go watch it. Yes, it can be very historically inaccurate at times but once you’re past that then you’ll have a great time. Trust me.
