Coffee Time News 16/06/14

Good morning everyone, hope you had a great weekend, back to work now, and back to news!


The Fast and the Furious 7, which obviously suffered the tragic loss of Paul Walker, seems to be faced with even more delays, apparently due to Vin Diesel’s lack of cooperation, but that seems fairly out of character for the actor.

Some new set pictures from Avengers 2 have brought about a whole host of new speculation, including the, er, inclusion of the Agents of Shield.

The publicity train for Transformers just keeps on chugging, and don’t forget. it’s a Michael Bay film, by Michael Bay, and is out on the 27th of June.


Early reviews of Gotham have praised it for being a solid and well made origin story, if you’d like to learn a bit more, head over here for tweets galore.

Arrow Season 3 has a few new faces being added to the roster, but beware, major season 2 spoilers ahead.

A bit of politics (or as close as we get here at Axby) now, as Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman speaks at a TV and Correspondents’ dinner. The deadpan humour really makes it fantastic, no moustache though.

The creators of Zelda are talking about mixing up the puzzle solving aspect (as well as a few other things) in the upcoming title for the Wii U.

Sirvo, the guys behind addictive mobile game Threes!, has a new game on the horizon, called Close Castles it’s part tower defence, part RTS. Both game genres that aren’t my favourite, but the sound track is KICKING.

Good morning everyone, Joe here for your daily round up of news, today, since E3 is done with, I’ll be bringing the gaming news too, that and James’ finally had to go back to work.


Jurassic World is released a year yesterday, and so we were treated to some new images, including Chris Pratt on a very nice looking motorcycle.

There’s a new Trailer for Denzel Washington’s The Equalizer, which gives a bit more of the film’s plot and a little look behind the character.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has a new TV spot too, ready for its launch this time next month.


True Detective may try to prevent outstaying its welcome and cut the series off after the 3rd, to prevent it getting old and stale. A good idea really, and something a lot of shows could learn from.

Ben Mackenzie (Gotham’s Jim Gordon) talks his role and being the only honest cop in a city of thieves. Gotham is due to hit our screens in the fall.

Hard hitting, pivotal scenes can be hard to write, and should be, in this article from the Hollywood reporter, a handful of writers (including Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey) talk about the scenes they had most trouble writing.


The big man behind Zelda (Eiji Aonuma) talks very briefly about the fans’ call for a remake of a particular mask related game (I’ve been banned from saying the title as apparently it’s my trigger).

In other well loved franchise news, Nintendo have acknowledged Metroid in both a 2D and a 3D capacity.

From more games to no more, the voice of Nathan Drake (and almost everyone other protagonist in the early 2010’s) has said that Uncharted 4 will probably be the last one Naughty dog make.
