Coffee Time News 11/09/14


There’s a very short announcement trailer for Mockingjay, the announcement is that there’s a new trailer coming out in a few days. But, it’s not all a disappointment, because we also have a new poster too.

Zach Snyder, in a retaliation to the leaked Batman vs Superman batmobile images has released an official look at the Dark Knight’s new ride, and it looks good.

Since the Amazing Spiderman 2 got such a mixed reputation, the Venom spin off will take precedence. Alex Kurtzman, the director, has stated his excitement saying that ‘you can do things with venom that you can’t do with Spiderman’.


The Legend of Korra, which has improved substantially since it’s lack lustre season 1 finale, has a fourth season on the way, on October 3rd. Seems silly that there was such a break between the second and the first season really.

Get a better look at the villains of Gotham in this new banner to promote the show.

We’ve already announced that Hayley Atwell’s Agent Carter will feature in the Agents of SHIELD season 2 premier, but it’s now been announced that the Howling Commandos, Captain America’s War buddies, will as well.

Remember yesterday when I reported the reboot of Predator by Ironman 3 and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director Shane Black and called it a reboot? Well Black has now come out to state that it will be an inventive sequel and not just a reset.

Award winning actor Ben Kingsley has been cast as Bagheera in Jon Favreau’s up and coming live action adaptation of The Jungle Book. He’ll star along side Idris Elba and Scarlett Johansson as well as 12 years a slave star Lupita Nyong’o.

And finally, the teaser trailer for the Hunger Games Mockingjay that came out about 5 minutes after I published the news yesterday. Go figure.


Gotham, a show that I’m increasingly excited for, has released another host of posters, as well as our first look at Poison Ivy.

The Flash and Arrow have season premiers all signed off, they’re October 7th and October 8th respectively.  DC fans are going to have a blast come October.


Minecraft has now sold more on consoles than on the PC. Which is cool. I mean, I own it on both, but then, you know, I’ve nothing better to do.

The Legend of Korra, you know, the ATLA sequel series, has a game coming out, from the makers of Bayonetta, it could be good, considering the source materiel has more action in it than its precursor, but then again, this is a tie in game.

There’s a little leaked news about GTA online’s heists and new missions, the heists may just be new missions though, and not what we were all waiting for…

First of all I’d like to apologise for the lack of a list yesterday, I’ve not been feeling well at all (which sucks considering the weather) and didn’t want to do it by half. Anywho, here’s the news.


First up, scifi fans rejoice, Nathan Fillion will be appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy, in a strictly cameo sense.

In the age of teasers for trailers, now we have teasers for teasers, Warner Brothers have announced that there will be a Dawn of Justice teaser at this years Comic-con.

The Interview, for which we shared a trailer last week, has been denounced by North Korea. I’m not sure why, but it might have something to do with the fact the plotline revolves around killing the country’s leader.


Do you remember Danger Mouse? The super spy mouse who was based off of Sherlock Holmes? Well he (and Penfold) are getting a 52 episode reboot season!

The Legend of Korra, season 3 (or Book 3) has a new clip and also a release date (June 27th) as well as a synopsis, you can find them over at Screenrant.

Farren Blackburn, who directed a whole host of excellent British shows, is due to direct an episode of Daredevil, which it’s been announced, will star Rosario Dawson (Sin City) as well, maybe as Electra, maybe not.


Nintendo lost that lawsuit against Philips, which seemed to include everything new that Nintendo have brought to the console game in the last few years.

So here’s a little bit of news from Sunset Overdrive, mostly including traps, but also confirming that you can play as a female character, which I’m sure has absolutely nothing to do with the recent Ubisoft controversy.

Nearly 6 and a half million games later, the Destiny alpha is over, and here is a list of all the many many things that got killed.

A new trailer for Laika’s new animation ‘Boxtrolls’  has emerged. Which shows off a bit more of the story than the previous world building trailer.

A little more behind the scenes of Pixar’s emotional story, sorry, story about emotions, could be both I suppose, Inside out, have appeared. Including some of the higher thought behind the concept.

A new trailer for Sin City, A Dame to Kill for, which is released in August, has hit, and it’s looking good man, really good.


Now, unfortunately, I fell out with The Legend of Korra halfway through season 2 ( a habit that I really need to sort out) but there is a trailer for the third season (or Book) right here, featuring a whole host of new characters.

Law and Order’s Vincent D’Onofrio will be playing Kingpin in Netflix’s Daredevil, and it sounds like he’ll be the main antagonist of the entire series. Which is fitting for a man of the king’s reputation.

On the trail of Netflix shows, it looks like the Magic Schoolbus will be getting an online reboot too. Next stop, nostalgia station. Oh wait, that’s trains. My bad.
