Andy Serkis’ role in The Force Awakens revealed, Trevor Noah to debut in September for the Daily Show and FIFA 16 to include womens’ teams.

We’ve got some set photos from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 which not only feature Shredder and the turtles, but also have a focus on newcomers Bebop and Rocksteady, you know, those two mutants who are like, a punk rhino and a punk Warthog? Anyway, we see them here in their regular human skins, so hopefully this is pre-mutation.

Another day, another Inside Out clip, this one focusses on memories, and the ‘core’ memories that determine the film characters’ personality. Who’s got bets on this being a major plot point?

Andy Serkis has revealed a set image from Star Wars the Force Awakens that should answer a few questions; most notably that Serkis will be in motion capture this time around, and that his character is named ‘supreme commander Snoke’. The leader of the remnants of the empire most likely.

The Daily Show’s new host, Trevor Noah will make his debut as host of the irreverent comedy show on September 28th. You can check out Noah trying out his new chair right here.

Dylan Bruce, star of Orphan Black and Arrow’s Brother Blood, has been cast in Heroes Reborn though very little is known about his character as of yet. Heroes Reborn will air some time this autumn.

Harvey Dent, played in Gotham by Nicholas D’Agasto, has been promoted to a series regular for season 2.

Assassins’ Creed Syndicate the next game in Ubisoft’s historical stabbing simulation will not have a companion app, unlike the last two instalments in the series, so that the dev team can focus on the ‘core experience’. Yes, please, more of this. Syndicate seems to be trying to right the wrongs of the last few games.

It’s taken this long, but female football (soccer) teams will finally be playable in FIFA 16. Not that we usually report on FIFA games, but this is kind of a big step. Not that you’ll be able to play mixed games, but there will be 12 international women’s teams available.

Free Games time; Microsoft’s Games for gold for June include Massive Chalice for Xbox One as well as Thief and Just Cause 2 for Xbox 360. While PSplus’s games include Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes and Super Exploding Zoo for PS4 and Cloudberry Kingdom for PS3. Check out the full list here.

J.K. Simmons in new Terminator Genisys trailer, Maisie Williams in Doctor Who Season 9 and Mulan could be getting the live action treatment.

A new trailer for Terminator Genisys is out, and it’s heavy on the Oscar winning J.K Simmons, which is a smart move. You can take a look at it here, and I have to admit, I’m more excited to see it now than I was before. It’s probably J.K. Simmons. It’s definitely J.K. Simmons.

The mutant Angel shows up in this new production art from Xmen Apocalypse, he seems to be in some sort of sideshow, ‘the amazing birdman’ perhaps. Oh wait, no that’s that other film. Anyway, in the comics the mutant Apocalypse recruits Angel as one of his horsemen/ turns him into ArchAngel, who’s got metal wings, so that could be a route they’ll take in the movie.

1998’s Mulan could be the next runner in the current Disney trend of Live Action retellings, if the Hollywood Reporter is anything to go by (it is). After the success of Cinderella it’s only natural for the studio to start looking for other viable properties, and what’s more viable than the timeless story of Mulan? Who disguises herself as a man to save her elderly father from the toils of war. The script, written by Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek, still needs a director, however.

Game of Thrones actor Maisie Williams will be appearing in a two part episode in season 9 of Doctor Who, little is known about her role, but it’s said that she’s going to give the Doctor a run for his money. Considering the secrecy and the infamy, as well as a shot of her in the Tardis, this could be a little bit more than a bit role for the actor, who’s come out and said that she’s excited to be involved in such a big part of British Culture.

The Daily Show has found its Jon Stewart replacement, in South African comedian Trevor Noah. Previously Noah has worked with Stewart on the show, but he also has an extensive stand up career to add to his comedy chops.

DC television news now; the pilot for Supergirl has finished filming, and should be pitched to advertisers in May, so it will be a while until we see any of the show. in other news, the Arrow/Flash Spinoff (is it weird that a Spinoff got a Spinoff?) adds two more names and heroes to the cast: First up is Hawkgirl, to be played by Law and Order actor Ciara Renee, she’ll play Kendra Saunders, who’s kind of a reincarnation of the original Hawkgirl/ancient warrior. The other role, the one of time traveller Rip Hunter, will be filled by Doctor Who actor Arthur Darvill. who is apparently responsible for all of history. Seems like a heavy Burden.

Dragon Age Inquisition DLC The Jaws of Hakkon will be coming to Playstation and Xbox 360 some time in May. The DLC launched as a timed exclusive for Xbox One and PC on March 27th.

Music Streaming service Spotify is now available on PS4 and PS3, which will replace Sony’s own music app on those consoles. PS4 users will also be happy to know that you can stream music while simultaneously playing a game, Meaning I can listen to Barenaked Ladies while roaming around Thedas waiting for that DLC.

English Screenwriter Jay Basu has been picked to write the Metal Gear Solid movie, while Jordan Voight-Roberts (Kings of Summer) is attached to direct. More on the project as we get details.

The President gets more than he bargained for in the new Pitch Perfect 2 trailer, Bethesda is to hold a conference this E3 and Orphan Black gets a teaser.

Insurgent, the second instalment of  the Divergent Series, which follows in the footsteps of the likes of the Hunger Games and the Maze Runner (young people fight the establishment!) has a third trailer. Now, I don’t mean to seem ignorant, but I have no idea what’s going on here.

Yesterday comic fans rejoiced at the news that Spiderman will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, well with the good comes the, questionable. Sony have confirmed that they will in fact be continuing with their plans for a Sinister Six film as well as a female lead superhero caper. Now these two things aren’t terrible in their own right, but considering the way that the franchise has been heading, and the  fact that they will be in a separate canon, it could cause confusion and a little grief. But we’ll see.

We’ve got another full length trailer for Pitch Perfect 2 which will see its release on the 15th of May. After a, mishap, involving Fat Amy, the President, and seeing a bit more than he expected, the Bellas have to prove themselves in the world championships. Higher stakes, but the same great humour and music (we hope).

The newest Orphan Black trailer doesn’t give an awful lot away, but after the revelations at the end of season two, the less the promotional material gives away, the more intense season 3 we’ll get.

Jon Stewart is leaving The Daily Show, and while it’s not certain when he’ll be leaving, it does appear that the show will not be pulled off the air, and it should be down to Stewart himself to find a suitable replacement. Now if only a certain British comedian hadn’t got his own show last year…

I present to you the first batch of set photos from the filming of True Detective season 2. It’s an exciting one too; a shootout starring Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch.

Lost Contact is the newest DLC for Alien Isolation, and introduces a new mode in which you have only one life and a series of challenges. These challenges escalate in difficulty and reward the player points. Points can be cashed in for save points, but will sacrifice some of the hard earned points and lower your place on the leader board.

Bethesda is to hold its first E3 conference this year (on June 14th) While they’ve given no more details other than the date, we can hold out hope for a few announcements. A Dishonoured 2, perhaps. Okay, let’s face it, we’re all hoping for a Fallout 4 announcement. I KNOW we’ve just had the Spiderman announcement, and we’re just about to get a remake of the best Zelda game in history, but good things come in threes right?

Towerfall Ascension is a fantastically fun couch-multiplayer game, that’s had myself and Charlie up late into the night trying to perfect, and so when it was announced that DLC would be released in the form of The Dark World we were super psyched, and recently the Towerfall Devblog has shown us some of the new characters and skins that are coming with the new update.
